We have often written about how great the Plasmacar is for the whole family- taking the kids to the park with it, and about how Mum and Dad can even have a go for themselves. As it is still the summer holidays, and many play schemes over the UK are in full swing, it’s gotten us thinking about many of the great play and day care centres all over the country, many of which have a huge range of toys for kids to play with, keeping them active and outdoors, with indoor activities such as painting and collage to balance them out. Plasmacar and Toy Story 3

The event of the summer has arrived- the film phenomenon that adults and children have alike have been talking about and anticipating for months is finally here- Toy Story 3 is in cinemas all over the country, taking them by storm. Of course, for us here at Plasmacar, this cinematic triumph is not just about action figures and Slinky dogs coming to life when we’re not in the room, oh no. It’s about the love of toys, how much joy they can bring to so many; generation upon generation as they are passed down through the family. It’s also about really appreciating how much a child will love his or her toys before they grow out of them (and it takes longer than we think), which is what the Plasmacar ethos is all about. Here, we love hearing stories of children enjoying our products, as well as the whole family being able to get involved in the fun, bringing them all together for a great play session. We also love taking our cars along to fairs and community events, letting kids try them out for free.

Plasmacar Troubleshooting

There are very few things more annoying and frustrating than getting yourself something that you’ve wanted for so long, and then finding that a part is missing, or indeed the product doesn’t work as you expect it to. We hate mucking around with things like this, so we thought we’d dedicate this week’s blog to Plasmacar troubleshooting, which may help if you find yourself having a little trouble with your new toy:

- If your Plasmacar doesn’t go forward: Move the steering wheel from left to right continuously, and you’ll find yourself moving forward as fast as you like. No batteries are required.

- If a part is missing from your Plasmacar: Get on the phone to us and we’ll send you out a replacement straight away, with the delivery option which means it gets there as quickly as possible. This is very rare, as we check them before they leave the warehouse.

- If you find that you can’t get anyone to give you a go: Not much we can do about this one, we’re afraid. They are totally fun and completely addictive…and we like it that way.

Plasmacar and the Summer Theatre Season

There’s tonnes of things we at Plasmacar love about the summer- the sun (we can only hope), getting out and about and seeing the UK in all its glory, and all the lovely long evenings during which there are lots of lovely entertaining things put on for us to enjoy. This June, Battersea Arts Centre in South London is producing a whole host of little shows for us to enjoy- and each one will have one audience member per one performer…all very exciting and unique. We caught up with our chum James, who, being very famous and celebrity-like, is in fact performing in the festival. Currently devising the piece that will be performed, we asked him what the ideas were so far.

“Well”, he said, “I want to give the audience member an experience to remember, and make them the star of the show whilst allowing them to have fun”. “How about pushing them around on a Plasmacar?”, said we. “Yes”, said he, “I may well have to consider that. They are suitable for all ages, right? We can’t predict who’ll be coming to watch!”. Of course, you know as well as we do that Plasmacar is wonderful for the young-at-heart of all ages. We wish you luck with the performance, James.

Paint your Plasmacar for the World Cup

We’re well into the swing of summer now, the warm weather and the BBQs, enjoying the longer light and partying on the beaches up and down the country (if you’re lucky enough to live by the coast that is, the rest of us settle for Battersea Park boating lake). This summer in particular is also special, as one of the most popular sporting events takes over the world- yes, that’s right kids, the footie world cup is here, and the competition is hotting up every day, as teams are knocked out and others find themselves getting ever-closer to the grand prize. If you’re looking for a cool and original way to support your nation over the next month, why not get artistic with your Plasmacar, and paint your colours on it. Or, if it’s your kids who take ownership of the Plasmacar, just get them to do it for you, and you’ll be deemed a really cool parent. Plus it’s way more original than hanging a flag out of your car, don’t you think?

Plasmacar at fairs around the world

Across the northern hemisphere, summer is (apparently) starting. For many that means breaking out the barbeque, cracking open the Pimms and lemonade, and lying in the garden for hours on end, in hope of gaining a lovely golden glow. For the more adventurous keen beans and organisers out there, fete and fair arrangements are on the cards, and what better way to entertain the masses, of all ages, than with the trusty Plasmacar. Why not offer rides in exchange for a small donation to your chosen cause, or indeed encourage visitors to bring along their own Plasmacar/other similar means of transport for races between them? Offering Plasmacar rides is certainly not something that we in the UK are keeping to ourselves- we’ve recently gotten wind of a school fete in Canada that will be offering the same thing! So if you find yourself anywhere near Campbell River this week, pop into Ecole Mer et Montagne (that’s the Sea and Mountain School to the rest of us) for some summery frolics.

Plasmacar and the family fun day

There’s nothing like summer; the weather’s warmer, the days are longer, and there’s time to spend with your kids, as they’re off school for a whole six weeks- the lucky blighters. It’s the perfect time to make the most of having entire days together, as a family, and what better way to do so than have yourselves a family fun day with the kids, mum and dad, and Plasmacar.

It’s easy- all you need is a good sense of fun and humour, lots of energy and warmed up vocal chords for all the laughing you’ll be doing, and of course your Plasmacar. Easy to ride and control, it’s perfect for taking out and about, into the park or onto the common, and on smooth paths you can really pick up some speed!

Of course, it goes without saying that adult supervision is essential for any child using a toy such as the Plasmacar (and with the family fun day, they won’t even feel like you’re keeping an eye on them), and that safety is of utmost importance.

Plasmacar obstacle races

The plasmacar can be enjoyed in so many ways. One particular favourite pastime of my children is to create plasmacar obstacle courses. This can be done outside or inside the house, so is a perfect way to spend some time whatever the weather.

If setting up a plasmacar obstacle course inside the house, there are a variety of objects that can be laid on the floor to be swerved around and woven in and out of. Stuffed toys work well, although it can be distressing if your child’s favourite furry animal gets run over inadvertently. Other useful items are tins of beans or tomatoes etc. These provide more solid obstacles.

If playing outside, you can use anything you can get your hands on, such as an old bucket, watering can, or outside toys you might have. If you’re feeling really adventurous you could set up some small ramps to make the course more interesting. You could also include tasks at various points of the course, such as putting on extra items of clothing, doing 10 star jumps or bouncing a tennis ball on a raquet 5 times.

The obstacle course can be as elaborate as your imagination allows, and is a great way to encourage children to exercise whilst having fun at the same time.

Do your kids love you enough to share their plasmacar?

I work for Plasmacar, so was very pleased to be able to buy a couple of Plasmacars for my kids for Christmas (with a staff discount, of course:). Being a bit of a big kid myself, one of the biggest attractions for me, in buying a plasmacar, was the fact that it was sturdy and strong enough for me to ride on too. But do I ever get to have a go? Of course not!

Ever since these brightly coloured ride on toys arrived at the house, they’ve been well and truly dominated by my two kids. They are ridden nearly every day, outside when the weather permits, or inside when it’s raining. Luckily, we have an open plan living space, so they can happily ride around downstairs.

It’s now been a month since Christmas and the cars arrived, so I am silently hoping that the novelty will wear off soon, and my husband and I might get some quality plasmacar time! Unfortunately, there are no signs of this happening yet…

Of course I am very pleased the toys are so well loved, although I am beginning to think two plasmacars are not enough for our family! I never imagined myself wanting to buy a children’s ride on toy for myself, but I am now seriously contemplating it!!

I know that I’m not alone in my adult appreciation of the plasmacar, so please feel free to share your appreciation here too!
