We’ve compiled a summary of the benefits to help you decide:

1. It’s a healthy toy that will encourage your children to play actively both outdoors and indoors.

2. No batteries! You don’t have to worry about the expense of batteries, or having to recharge batteries. The only power required for this ride on toy is kiddie power.

3. No noise! Apart from the sound effects emitted from your child, which will invariably include whoops of joy and squeals of excitement, you can rest assured that you will not be driven crazy by sirens, honks or other unwanted sound effects.

4. No motor! The simple design of the Plasmacar means that there is no motor to worry about. Sturdy plastic parts make up the Plasmacar, which has been built to last and most importantly be seriously played with!

5. It’s a toy that can be enjoyed by adults and children alike. So if you want to get involved and have some fun with your kids, this is a great way to do so.

As you can see, there are plenty of good reasons to purchase a plasmacar. We have received plenty of positive feedback to confirm that we are not the only ones crazy about this toy! Kids up and down the country are discovering the fun to be had with a plasmacar, which has already taken the States by storm during the last couple of years.

One particular favourite pastime of my children is to create plasmacar obstacle courses. This can be done outside or inside the house, so is a perfect way to spend some time whatever the weather.

If setting up a plasmacar obstacle course inside the house, there are a variety of objects that can be laid on the floor to be swerved around and woven in and out of. Stuffed toys work well, although it can be distressing if your child’s favourite furry animal gets run over inadvertently. Other useful items are tins of beans or tomatoes etc. These provide more solid obstacles.

If playing outside, you can use anything you can get your hands on, such as an old bucket, watering can, or outside toys you might have. If you’re feeling really adventurous you could set up some small ramps to make the course more interesting. You could also include tasks at various points of the course, such as putting on extra items of clothing, doing 10 star jumps or bouncing a tennis ball on a raquet 5 times.

The obstacle course can be as elaborate as your imagination allows, and is a great way to encourage children to exercise whilst having fun at the same time.

Being a bit of a big kid myself, one of the biggest attractions for me, in buying a plasmacar, was the fact that it was sturdy and strong enough for me to ride on too. But do I ever get to have a go? Of course not!

Ever since these brightly coloured ride on toys arrived at the house, they’ve been well and truly dominated by my two kids. They are ridden nearly every day, outside when the weather permits, or inside when it’s raining. Luckily, we have an open plan living space, so they can happily ride around downstairs.

It’s now been a month since Christmas and the cars arrived, so I am silently hoping that the novelty will wear off soon, and my husband and I might get some quality plasmacar time! Unfortunately, there are no signs of this happening yet…

Of course I am very pleased the toys are so well loved, although I am beginning to think two plasmacars are not enough for our family! I never imagined myself wanting to buy a children’s ride on toy for myself, but I am now seriously contemplating it!!

I know that I’m not alone in my adult appreciation of the plasmacar, so please feel free to share your appreciation here too!

A simple piece of engineering removes the need for pedals, and places all the power in your hands.

To move forward, you simply wiggle the steering wheel from left to right. Using this action, the plasmacar can reach a speed of 2.8 metres per second, which is over 10km/h. To stop the vehicle, you simply stop wiggling and wait for the car to come to a stop, using your feet to assist if necessary. If you want to put the car into reverse, simply switch the front wheels around so that the larger ones are closest to the front of the car, and wiggle away!

The science behind the wiggle car action is based on the same principles as those used by in line skaters and skateboarders. Skaters repeatedly pull their skates laterally inward in a criss cross action to gain speed.

After the frenzy of Christmas, the Plasmacar team are enjoying a calmer January, content in the thought that children and adults up and down the country are out enjoying their new plasmacars. Given the phenomenal success of the innovative ride on toy, we thought it was worthwhile taking a moment to consider what makes the Plasmacar so great.

Aesthetically speaking, the plasmacar is a beautiful and simple piece of engineering design. Sleek, bold and aerodynamic, it immediately catches your eye, and has a range of colours to complement the design perfectly. Kids immediately love them even before they get on.

The easy assembly is a great selling point for parents. Consisting of only six parts and accompanied by very clear and straight forward instructions, you really can’t go wrong with the construction of the toy. The current Plasmacar assembly record is 1 minute, so if you think you can beat that, please let us know!

The quality of the product is excellent. It is built to be used, enjoyed and ridden for years. It has been built with both adults and children in mind, so it really is sturdy, and how many children’s ride on toy manufacturers can say that?

Plasmacars have been designed very much with safety in mind. When used appropriately, they are as safe as you can get with a child’s ride on toy, and meet or exceed all recognised safety standards.

Perhaps what makes the plasmacar so popular is the fact that the whole family can get involved. Adults love them just as much as children, and are able to recapture feelings from their youth. It offers more than a family game of junior trivial pursuit or scrabble, as it gets everyone up on their feet and outside having fun. The simplicity of the design means that there are no distracting flashing lights or loud noises to annoy, allowing you to focus wholly on the experience and enjoy the activity together, whether it’s the whole family or simply the kids on their own.

It’s official – grown ups love the PlasmaCar as much as kids. Not that we at PlasmaCar HQ need to be reminded of this, as we are unanimous in our feelings towards the amazing ride on toy. However, it’s always great to see that we are not alone in our enthusiasm. On the contrary, it seems that on the other side of the pond, where the PlasmaCar has been available for a few years, the PlasmaCar has built up a very loyal and often grown up fan base.

One such fan is Ed Shipul, the CEO and President of Schipul – The Web Marketing Company. Clearly a man who appreciates the value of creating a positive and fun company culture, the PlasmaCar has become an integral part of this, with an annual PlasmaCar race taking place as part of the Thanksgiving Celebrations.

Ed explains: “The Plasma Car races on the roof of the 5 story parking garage behind the office building of our offices started in 2007. One of the partners at Schipul is Jennifer Carr Brooks who had purchased a car for her son. She brought one up to the office along with a few others that she borrowed, and after our annual Thanksgiving feast led the company in our first ever parking-garage-rooftop-plasma-car races! It has become a fun, interesting, and sometimes knee-scraping addition to our company culture.”

And the photos clearly show how much fun is had by the members of staff at Schipul! What an inspiring way to bring some fun into the workplace, the benefits of which will undoubtedly be felt all year round.

Not only do you have to a) remember in the first place, but you must also b) think of a fantastically original and exciting gift to surprise your loved one with, and finally, c) execute the giving of said gift with panache and style, and effortless romance. Not easy, we’re sure you’ll agree. This year, why not treat the love of your life to something a little different, something exciting and thrilling, something utterly special….we recommend a ride on the (incredibly romantic) Plasmacar. Perfect for riding around the kitchen, the living room, and even around the garden, you can push your partner along whilst they sit back and enjoy the journey. For that extra special touch, tie heart-shaped balloons onto the steering wheel. Moonlit “drives” are always particularly magical, especially when it is just the two of you wheeling along at a leisurely pace. So be the envy of every other couple this Valentine’s and indulge in an exciting yet beautiful activity such as riding the Plasmacar- who needs a horse drawn carriage when you can have this? And the best part: you can keep the Plasmacar for fun all year round; though be warned, others might catch on to your ingenious idea for next Valentine’s…

A ride on Santa’s sleigh is something which may seem impossible for lots of children, but with a Plasmacar and a little imagination/creativity, the magic of Santa’s sleigh cab be recreated with no trouble at all. Simply follow our easy steps and your kids will be enchanted with this unique experience you’ll be giving them:
1) Decorate the Plasmacar with tinsel, which can be simply wrapped around, or attached with string.
2) Add reins with which to attach reindeer; any sort of rope will do the job.
3) Attach reindeer to pull the sleigh (yes, that’s you, Mum and Dad). Reindeer may need some encouragement to pull faster, so much tugging of the reins may be required.
With these tips, your sleigh will begin to take shape. If you really want to go all out, you could also add velvet cushions for Santa to perch on, wooden bars to stop him falling out as they career through the night sky…the possibilities are endless. Please do send us any photos of any sleighs you’ve made, we always love to hear from you!

We at Plasmacar like to think we’re a personable bunch, and we love having a good chat/discussion/gossip with our customers over the phone, and sometimes we get to find out a little about them. We have, however, recently become aware that our customers don’t really know too much about us, so we thought we’d let you in on a few of our deepest, darkest (Plasmacar related) secrets…
Name: Big Boss Rob
Favourite Plasmacar colour: Red, though I love the thought of a luminous yellow one.
Funniest Plasmacar moment: Getting stuck in a mud puddle and falling in (mostly funny for everyone else)

Name: Tom
Favourite Plasmacar colour: Blue
Funniest Plasmacar moment: Not really understanding how it worked, and spending about fifteen minutes crying out for help. Until he understood that he needed to turn the wheel.

Name: Sophie
Favourite Plasmacar colour: Purple
Funniest Plasmacar moment: Not so much funny as incredibly satisfying; beating Tom (her brother) in a race along a nice tarmac cul-de-sac, including a circuit of a tree and back to the beginning. It was a great moment.

Name: Jonny
Favourite Plasmacar colour: Yellow
Funniest Plasmacar moment: Getting his Mum onto his Plasmacar, and pushing her through the house. Oh, good times.

Name: Dave
Favourite Plasmacar colour: Blue
Funniest Plasmacar moment: Trying to beat the record for making the Plasmacar in less than a mintute, and somehow ending up with bits, bubble wrap and plastic everywhere (and no car built).
So now you know something about us all, feel free to give us a call and chat about anything you like at all- we will of course be able to answer any Plasma-related questions you have as well. We look forward to hearing from you!

The well-known television show “Pimp my Ride” has proved to be a hit all over the world, with owners of unfortunately damaged, or just plain ugly, vehicles crying out in desperation and need, asking, “Please improve the outward appearance of my lowly car”, but in much more ‘street’ terms. Innit. Although we cannot condone the use of brash and demanding language, this whole thing has got us thinking- if we were to conform to the pressures of society and allow ourselves to feel like we have to enhance the outward appearance of our Plasmacar, how might we do it? Paint is always a good start- we’re thinking flames up the side of the car, maybe the odd flower or heart shaped design. Stickers are a must, as they come in so many varieties- shiny, furry, big, small…the possibilities are endless. Follow these easy initial steps and your youngsters will be delighted, their Plasmacar will be personalised (very useful for playground disputes if there are a few around) and completely unique, making them the coolest kid on the block.
If you have made your Plasmacar that little bit special, please do send us some photos- we love seeing your pictures and hearing your stories!
