Easy Assembly
The PlasmaCar is delivered to customers bagged with around four separate parts. Far from being daunted by the assembly we encourage customers to look at the videos below and see if you can beat the one minute installation achieved by YoYoJoe in the USA. Assembly instructions come with the PlasmaCar but customers will need a rubber mallet, screwdriver and safety glasses
In your package you will find
Main body- “Butterfly” shaped steering wheel with expansion fitting assembly
- Front wheel assembly
- Foam rubber sheath (NOTE: This comes installed on the shaft of the front wheel assembly and must be removed before beginning the assembly procedure.)
- Red plastic cap
- Rear wheels (one left side and one right side (See note and picture in step 5.)
- Hex tightener
Step 1: Please put on your safety glasses before starting. Remove the foam rubber sheath from the shaft of the front wheel assembly. Insert the shaft of the front wheel assembly through the hole near the front of the base of the main body until the top of the shaft begins to protrude through.
Step 2: IMPORTANT NOTE: Once the front wheel assembly has been seated into place, it may not be possible to remove it. So before seating the shaft firmly into place, put the foam rubber sheath back over it, and then push the wheel assembly the rest of the way up. Use a rubber mallet to tap the bottom of the assembly to seat it into the main body.
(NOTE: Do not use a steel hammer directly on the plastic – this could damage the unit. If you only have a steel hammer available, place a small block of wood onto the wheel assembly between it and the hammer and strike the block of wood.)
Step 3: Orient the “butterfly” steering wheel assembly so that the narrow end of the butterfly is towards the back of the car. Then place the end of the expansion fitting of the steering wheel assembly through the hole until it is seated into the top of the shaft of the front wheel assembly. Make sure that the steering wheel is properly aligned with the front wheel assembly – the smaller wheels should be to the front.
Step 4: Insert the shaft of a screw driver through the holes in the hex tightener, and then use this combination to tighten the nut in the top center of the steering wheel. (This expands the end of the fitting inside the top of the shaft and tightens it into place.) Once you are sure that everything is properly aligned, push the red cap into the hole in the top of the steering wheel. (The cap can be difficult to remove.)
Step 5: Place the shafts of the rear wheels into the correct holes in the base of the main body near the back. The flared sides (see picture) should be facing away from the main body.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Make sure that you have them in the correct holes, because once they are locked into place, they can not be removed.
Once you are sure that they are in the right holes, tap them into place with the mallet.
(Tip: The right rear wheel is usually packed in the blue plastic bag, but confirm this before continuing.)
